About 700 miles all in, you'll get to see some of the best scenery in Scotland, or the inside of a rain cloud, we can never be sure 😁But over last three years, while there have been showers, we've only been soaked on one day.

Routes
The routes are very much dependent on the weather, last year we went up the West coast and back down East to avoid the majority of the clouds. The routes below assume the opposite, but may change as we get nearer to the start date.
Day 1 Inverness: https://maps.app.goo.gl/TkpJEf4YRo78GyPr8
5h 30m - 202m
Starting with fuel and breakfast at McDonalds in South Queensferry, we head north over the bridge, exiting the motorway at J4 and up to Crieff and on to Loch Tay. We stop for a coffee at the Courtyard Brasserie before heading on up the A827, through Glenshee and on to Bramar where we will stop for lunch at the Bothy. We can fuel up as we leave Bramar if needed as we head up through Cockbridge.
An optional coffee stop at Granton, then on towards Inverness and the delights of the Holiday Inn.
Day 2 A Applecross: https://maps.app.goo.gl/QqsxX64s7SdMNCJSA
6h 04m - 217m
An anti-clockwise loop from Inverness, heading along the A835 towards Torridon on the west and following the coast to Fearnmore and down to Applecross itself where we can stop for a bite to eat and take in the fabulous weather. Hopefully. After filling up in Applecross we head skyward over the Bealach na Ba, stopping for pics at the top, and then down to Lochcarron and on to Dornie where we can stop at Manuela's wee Bakery for well deserved sustinance. Stopping for fuel at Inverinate, we head over to Fort Augustus at the foot of Loch Ness, where we can stop for an optional coffee/pee break. Then up the eastern side of the loch and back to base in Inverness.
Day 2 B Durness: https://maps.app.goo.gl/hCBExwRH42dG7mWs8
6h 10m - 240m
A clockwise loop from Inverness heading west, stopping at the Corrieshalloch Gorge for a view and the on to Ullapool sea front for a morning cafine fix. Heading north to Ledmore and on to Scourie and then a final push North to Durness. There's fuel at Durness if you need it. From there we'll head to The Norse Bakeouse at Tongue for lunch. There may be fuel at Tongue (not too reliable) but as we head down one of the best single track roads for riding in Scotland to Lairg, where there is fuel. From there we drop down through BonarBridge towards Inverness.
Day 2 C Figure 8: https://maps.app.goo.gl/K81c9JZuPmtSBbcv5
5h 52m 238m
A figure 8, heading North from Inverness to Invershin, then across to thw west and up to Ardveck Castle and on to Scourie where we have lunch at the Crofters Kitchen. From there, down the side of Loch Shin to the petrol station at Lairg, back across via Ledmore junction and down to Ullapool for a coffee/fuel stop. Then its simply down one of my favourite roads, the A835 Ullapool to Garvie and on to Inverness.
Day 2 D Skye: https://maps.app.goo.gl/Y4PfXHJGGFuPeZeL8
6h 47m 277m
An option of a long day if everyone is feeling fit. From Inverness, up to Garvie then back down to Kyle of Lochalsh for a coffee before heading and over the sea to Skye and on to Portree. From there we go up to Dunvegan where we can have lunch at The Dunvegan cafe and visit the fabulous Giant Angus MacAskill museum (run by Danny's dad) (it's a 5-10 minute one room museum - very strange) From there, we head back down to Dornie and can stop at Eilean Donan if people want pics, or more coffee. Optional fuel at Inverinate and on to Fort Augustus for coffee and fuel. From here we head back up the east of the loch to Inverness.
Day 3 Homeward: https://maps.app.goo.gl/LE7FgB8Sjywzn9gf8
5h 50m 250m
Once we get up and have our hearty Premier Inn breakfast, we check out and head back into the Cairngorms through Aviemore across the Laggan to Spean Bridge where we'll stop for coffee before heading south through Fort William (fuel). We'll head through Glencoe and stop at the visitor centre for lunch. Hopefully we'll be drier than the last time we attempetd this! From there we can pop down to Inveraray for a coffee or ice cream and back via Striling and onto the M9. A few of us will peel off just after the Kelpies and everyone else can proceed on to Edinburgh.
