Lake District Run
This is a 2 day, 1 night trip down to the Lake District, covering a couple of hundred miles each day and taking in 7 of the mountain passes in the Lakes. led by Marc Elvin (Observer & Membership Secretary)

Day 1
Meet and The Steading at 8am for a 8:30 departure (please ensure you have full tanks and empty bladders).
We shall head along the bypass and head down the A68, cutting off to take the Kielder Forrest road and stopping at the Rocky Road Cafe in Bellingham for coffee and a break.
From there we shall head towards Alstom for petrol and down the Hartside Pass, around Penrith and from there we shall head into the Lakes, past Ullswater and through to lunch/coffee at Cafe called Fellbites in Glenridding.
From there we shall head up the Kirkstone Pass and down into Ambleside, onto Wynrose Pass and then the legendary Hardknott Pass.
After this we shall head north on the A595 and turn right towards Ennerdale, up over the hill and down towards Cockermouth and petrol stop before heading to evening accommodation in the Premier Inn at Cockermouth.

Day 2
Breakfast at 8am.
Leaving the hotel at 9am we shall head down to Whinlatter Pass, across to Newlands Pass and onto Honister Pass before heading up the B5289 past Derwentwater, through Keswick and onto the A595 with a coffee stop in Wigton.
Then from there, we head round Carlisle towards Longtown on the A7 and turning off onto the B6399 towards Hawick.
From there head towards the Jet petrol station outside Selkirk and then lunch stop at the Waterwheel Cafe in Selkirk.
From Selkirk we head through Peebles and up to The Steading to finish the run.

A few points to bear in mind:-
Petrol stops are around every 120 miles
Coffee/lunch stops are around every 2 hours
It is your responsibility to book your own accommodation.
Premier Inn including meal deal (dinner and breakfast) is around £165
Given the types of roads and complexity of some of the roads, this is only suitable for experienced riders.
